Ashley Furnival is known for her ability to create unexpected and thought-provoking looks, always crafted with the distinct effortlessness of a native Californian.
Born and raised in Malibu, Ashley began her career working in design at Joie and then on the advertising team at Guess Jeans. Her background landed her positions assisting stylists such as Lori Goldstein, Marie-Amélie Sauvé, and Vanity Fair’s Michael Roberts. While Ashley was still assisting, she began working with Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte. She worked her way up through their ranks from intern to creative consultant at the brand, a position she holds to this day.
Ashley’s unique perspective as one who has been involved in the inner workings of a brand’s process in creating each piece has provided her with an unparalleled eye. It is through this lens that she approaches each job. She has shot with Ryan McGinley, Ben Rayner, Harley Weir, Autumn de Wilde and Lauren Dukoff. Her editorial work has been featured in Vogue, Vanity Fair, Allure and Gentlewoman. Ashley’s advertising clients include Rodarte, Opening Ceremony, Equipment, Joie, AG Jeans and UGG.
Her ongoing creative consulting with Rodarte continues to produce a distinctive and memorable impression. In addition to consulting, she also styles the majority of their shoots as well as every runway show.
